<span id="deduplication"></span><h1>Como funciona a deduplicação?<a class="headerlink" href="#how-does-the-deduplication-work" title="Link to this heading">¶</a></h1>
<p>O processo de remoção de ficheiros redundantes e substituição por hardlinks NTFS com o TreeSize é chamado de <strong>deduplicação</strong>. Isso reduzirá o espaço em disco que está bloqueado pelos seus ficheiros duplicados.</p>
<p>Em vez de cada um dos ficheiros ocupar espaço individual no seu disco rígido, o TreeSize remove todos os ficheiros duplicados e mantém apenas um deles.</p>
<p>Os ficheiros que foram removidos serão substituídos por hardlinks, que apontarão para os dados restantes (Veja: <a class="reference internal" href="notesonntfs.html#notesonntfs"><span class="std std-ref">Notas sobre NTFS</span></a>).</p>
<p>Os dados agora são partilhados por todos os hardlinks para este ficheiro, como mostrado na imagem abaixo.</p>

<p>Estes hardlinks podem ser usados como qualquer ficheiro normal. Você não notará nenhuma diferença, exceto que os dados agora são partilhados entre os outros links. Na verdade, eles não são diferentes de qualquer ficheiro normal, exceto que não ocupam o seu próprio espaço.</p>

<h2>Qual dos ficheiros duplicados será substituído?<a class="headerlink" href="#which-of-the-duplicate-files-will-be-replaced" title="Link to this heading">¶</a></h2>
<p>Se você marcar todos os ficheiros de um grupo de duplicados, o TreeSize escolherá o ficheiro com a data de «Última modificação» mais recente e usará como «mestre» para este grupo. Todos os outros ficheiros serão removidos e substituídos por hardlinks, que apontam para o ficheiro mestre.</p>
<p>Se você quiser selecionar manualmente um ficheiro mestre, pode deixar um dos ficheiros em um grupo de duplicados desmarcado. Este ficheiro não será substituído, mas usado como mestre em vez disso.</p>
