<p>System plików NTFS może być używany z systemem operacyjnym Windows NT lub nowszym. Oferuje on pewne specjalne funkcje, które mają również wpływ na TreeSize.</p>
<p>W kolejnych akapitach opiszemy niektóre z tych funkcji i ich wpływ na to oprogramowanie.</p>

<h2>Listy kontroli dostępu<a class="headerlink" href="#access-control-lists" title="Link to this heading">¶</a></h2>
<p>Dostęp użytkowników do plików i folderów może być ograniczony. Można przyznać lub odmówić innym użytkownikom lub grupom pewnych praw, takich jak odczyt, zapis, wykonywanie lub usuwanie. W ten sposób można nawet odmówić administratorom dostępu do plików i folderów.</p>
<p>Jeśli administrator spróbuje uzyskać dostęp do folderu w Eksploratorze Windows, do którego właściciel odmówił innym użytkownikom dostępu do odczytu, zostanie wyświetlony komunikat o błędzie „Odmowa dostępu”.</p>
<p>TreeSize jest jednak w stanie skanować takie foldery, jeśli jesteś zalogowany jako administrator lub jako użytkownik, który ma prawo do wykonywania kopii zapasowych (opcję tę można zmienić w „Panelu sterowania > Narzędziach administracyjnych > Lokalnych zasadach bezpieczeństwa” oraz w edytorze użytkownika systemu Windows).</p>

<h2>Kompresja oparta na plikach<a class="headerlink" href="#file-based-compression" title="Link to this heading">¶</a></h2>
<p>NTFS obsługuje kompresję poszczególnych plików. Pliki skompresowane na woluminie NTFS mogą być odczytywane i zapisywane bez uprzedniej dekompresji przez inny program. Dekompresja odbywa się automatycznie i w sposób przezroczysty podczas odczytu pliku. Plik jest ponownie kompresowany podczas zapisywania.</p>
<p>Przestrzeń zajmowana przez skompresowany plik jest zwykle znacznie mniejsza niż jego normalny rozmiar. W konsekwencji, w przypadku folderów, które są częściowo lub całkowicie skompresowane, przydzielone miejsce raportowane przez TreeSize może być mniejsze niż rozmiar raportowany dla tego folderu.</p>
<p>TreeSize jest w stanie pokazać stopień kompresji w dodatkowej kolumnie na karcie „Szczegóły”. Dodatkowo może wyświetlać skompresowane pliki i foldery w innym kolorze. Funkcje te można włączyć lub wyłączyć w oknie dialogowym Opcje.</p>
<p>TreeSize potrafi kompresować i dekompresować całe gałęzie systemu File za pomocą menu kontekstowego.</p>
<p>W Windows 10 Microsoft wprowadził nowe przezroczyste funkcje kompresji w NTFS, zaprojektowane w celu kompaktowania plików systemu operacyjnego, głównie plików DLL i EXE. W przeciwieństwie do starej kompresji opartej na plikach, pliki te nie są oznaczone jako skompresowane w swoich atrybutach.</p>

<p>Punkt montowania woluminu to istniejąca ścieżka, w której można „zamontować” inny wolumin.</p>
<p>Dzięki temu użytkownicy i aplikacje mogą odwoływać się do zamontowanego woluminu za pomocą tej ścieżki. Nie ma potrzeby przypisywania litery dysku do tego woluminu. Pozwala to na ujednolicenie wielu systemów plików w jeden logiczny system plików.</p>
<p>Dowiązania symboliczne, znane również jako punkty połączenia, działają podobnie: jeśli na przykład masz pusty folder „C:\Documents\Images”, możesz utworzyć dla niego dowiązanie symboliczne do „E:Pics”. Aplikacje będą wtedy widzieć zawartość „E:\Pics” w „C:\Documents\Images”.</p>
<p>W przeciwieństwie do punktu węzłowego NTFS, dowiązanie symboliczne może również wskazywać na File lub zdalną ścieżkę sieciową SMB.</p>
<p>Jeśli opcja „Śledź punkty montowania i dowiązania symboliczne” jest włączona, TreeSize uwzględni zawartość tych folderów podczas skanowania. Ponieważ nie są one fizycznie przechowywane na skanowanym dysku, może to spowodować, że wyniki dla przydzielonego miejsca będą większe niż całkowity rozmiar dysku.</p>

<p>Mogą istnieć alternatywne strumienie danych, przechowujące dane w taki sam sposób, jak standardowy strumień danych. Te alternatywne strumienie danych są ukryte. Oznacza to, że możesz mieć plik z 1 bajtem w oficjalnym głównym strumieniu danych i kilkaset MB w jednym lub kilku alternatywnych strumieniach danych.</p>
<p>Polecenie dir, menedżery plików lub eksplorator Windows pokażą 1 bajt jako rozmiar tego pliku, ale w rzeczywistości przydziela on znacznie więcej miejsca na dysku twardym.</p>

<p>TreeSize może wykrywać alternatywne strumienie danych i dodawać ich rozmiary do przydzielonego rozmiaru pliku.</p>

<p>W oknie dialogowym TreeSize Options można wybrać wykrywanie alternatywnych strumieni danych, aby uzyskać dokładniejszą alokację przestrzeni gałęzi katalogu.</p>

<p>Na woluminach NTFS więcej niż jedna nazwa może być powiązana z tymi samymi danymi. Mimo, że są one nazywane różnymi nazwami, wszelkie wprowadzone zmiany będą miały wpływ na rzeczywiste dane, niezależnie od tego, jak plik zostanie nazwany w późniejszym czasie.</p>
<p>Hardlinki mogą odnosić się tylko do danych, które istnieją w tym samym systemie plików. Dane są dostępne tak długo, jak długo istnieje co najmniej jeden link, który na nie wskazuje. Kiedy ostatni link zostanie usunięty, przestrzeń jest uważana za wolną.</p>

<p>System Windows Server 2012 i nowsze wersje oferują funkcję deduplikacji danych: Deduplikacja danych segmentuje pliki o ułamkowo równej zawartości na tak zwane „chunki”, które są przenoszone do podfolderu „System Volume Informaton\Dedup\ChunkStore" znajdującego się na odpowiedniej partycji NTFS.</p>
<p>Po zastosowaniu deduplikacji przez system Windows oryginalne dane są zastępowane wskaźnikiem do odpowiedniego fragmentu w katalogu ChunkStore. Po deduplikacji przez deduplikację NTFS dwa identyczne pliki będą wymagały tylko połowy miejsca na dysku, które zajmowały wcześniej.</p>
<p>Ponieważ oryginalne pliki zawierają teraz tylko mały wskaźnik zamiast danych, przydzielone miejsce na dysku będzie wskazywane przez system Windows ze znacznie mniejszą wartością niż wcześniej (dla dwóch identycznych plików zajęte miejsce na dysku byłoby wskazywane jako „0 bajtów”).</p>
<p>Aby TreeSize pokazywał oryginalne rozmiary plików i folderów, wystarczy przełączyć tryb widoku z „Przydzielone miejsce” na „Rozmiar”. „Przydzielone miejsce” wyświetlane w TreeSize to miejsce na dysku, które można uzyskać po usunięciu odpowiedniego pliku.</p>

<p>Istnieje jednak jedna sytuacja, w której przydzielone miejsce dla plików stub może nie być poprawnie raportowane. W przypadku, gdy TreeSize napotka błędy Access Denied, korzysta z funkcji Windows API przeznaczonych dla oprogramowania do tworzenia kopii zapasowych, aby móc skanować również te części systemu plików i podawać wartości ich rozmiaru i przydzielonego miejsca.</p>
<p>Widzieliśmy kilka urządzeń, które raportowały pełny rozmiar pliku jako przydzielone miejsce w tym przypadku dla plików skrótów, najprawdopodobniej dlatego, że byłby to rozmiar zajęty podczas tworzenia kopii zapasowej.</p>
<p>Aby tego uniknąć, należy upewnić się, że użytkownik uruchamiający skanowanie ma pełny dostęp do odczytu do skanowanego systemu plików.</p>
